iFi Audio - Aurora

The iFi Audio Aurora is made to mimic grandness—both in terms of sound and design. Its look has been inspired by French design and Japanese architecture. Julien Haziza, the designer of the Aurora took inspiration from Shigeru Ban, Tadao Ando and the Omotesandō and Harajuku districts in Tokyo. With the bamboo and aluminium frame, you get a striking design with a hint of vintage.

Experience PureEmotion®, a proprietary amp technology that features a hybrid circuit design with multiple key stages. The preamp stage includes a Russian 6N3P from the 2C51 premium tube/valve family. Each half of the tube is used for the left & right channels and adds gain to the audio signal in preparation for further amplification. This signal is delivered by the ESS Sabre Hyperstream DAC chipset which along with AMR’s Global Master Timing (GMT)/ Memory Buffer System, reduces jitter and unneeded noise. This results in a life-like sound that combines the purity of tone with a high level of engagement, speed and dynamic gusto.

Stream music however you like with the Aurora. It has Bluetooth v5.0 and just about every audio codec i.e. Qualcomm aptX, aptX HD, aptX Low Latency, aptX Adaptive, LDAC, AAC and HWA/LHDC (codecs created by Sony, Apple and Huawei respectively). Using WiFi and LINKPLAY™, you can link several Auroras to create a multi-room system. Enjoy music from the built-in Tidal and Spotify functionality or play music offline with the micro SDHC cards slot. You can also connect to other devices via a variety of cable inputs like optical, coaxial, USB, 3.5mm and Ethernet.

Enjoy a deep, genuine bass with TrueBass®. It includes two downward-firing 8-inch bass radiators and dual-level depth control that lets you adjust the bass response according to your taste, even down to 27Hz. Want to turn your room into a concert hall? Consider it done! With SoundSpace®, the driver unit array consists of a proprietary matrix that allows you to change the level of output from specific drivers at certain frequencies. This results in an immersive, room-filling soundstage.

The Aurora features Auto Room Tailoring (ART)®, a ‘room correction’ system developed entirely by iFi engineers. Six sensors measure the distance between the Aurora and surrounding walls using ultrasonic sound. Then, a 32-bit ARM Cortex microprocessor adjusts the output from the speaker array to precisely tailor the musical performance according to the room. The result? A deep, voluminous sound that'll make you forget the artificial, tinny sound of systems that use DSP.
