FiiO - FA9

Engineered with 6 Knowles BA drivers per ear, along with a fine-tuned 4-way crossover and a low-frequency ultra-long sound tube, the FiiO FA9 takes care of the entire audible frequency range with excellence. There is a dedicated SWFK-31376 driver for high and ultra-high frequencies that unite extreme resolution and rich sound. The mid frequencies are seamlessly managed by the EJ-33877 custom driver which is jointly developed by FiiO and Knowles for lush vocals. When it comes to lower frequencies, the HODVTEC-31618 driver along with 2 woofers does a splendid job by producing dynamic and powerful bass. With such a powerful setup at play, you are all set to experience sound like never before.

This is the first time FiiO is utilising EJ balanced armature drivers from Knowles. Both FiiO and Knowles worked collectively to come up with a custom EJ-33877 driver specifically for the FA9. This custom driver delivers mid frequencies with lifelike vocals and instruments.

To produce the purest sound and seamless integration of multiple drivers, FiiO employed a specially-designed, 80.6mm long sound tube in the FA9. This tube functions as a low-pass filter that keeps unnecessary extra mids and highs away from the driver resulting in stable frequency response. Moreover, the tube enhances the mids to sound more smooth and clean while also improving the texture of the bass.

Explore the freedom of tuning the sound as per your preference with the FiiO FA9. It comes with an electronic crossover technology consisting of 3 sound adjustment switches. Adjust the impedance, bass, mids and treble for a personalised music listening experience. S1 Switch: Turn it on to lower impedance and improve sensitivity. Turn it off to increase impedance and lower audible noise for a natural sound. S2 Switch: Turn it on to boost the treble for rocking highs. Turn it off to go back to the normal treble for a balanced response. S3 Switch: Turn it on to lower bass and improve mids to focus on human voices and instruments. Turn it off to enhance bass and lower mids for punchy bass response.

When there are multiple drivers at work, seamless performance becomes a challenge. To address this the FiiO FA9 has a four-way crossover design. This design perfectly binds the drivers in perfect harmony for coherent low, middle, high, and ultra-high frequencies. The use of DLP 3D printing technology gives the shell of the FA9 a distinct look that stands apart from other 3D printed headphones. The highly advanced 4th gen DLP 3D printing technology employed in designing the shell of the FA9 gives it a detailed and robust design that is also optimised for audio. The beautiful looks are a result of an all-new diamond-cut faceplate that blends perfectly with the translucent-black resin shell. The resin used here is not regular resin but an EU IIA certified, high transparency resin from German known for its skin-friendly texture, comfort and resistance to discolouration. Data of thousands of human ears were scanned to derive the perfect design of the FiiO FA9. The small, comfortable design of the FA9 offers pleasant wearing and listening experience. To add to this experience the FA9 is made with optimised 3D printing technology and comes with skin-friendly resin materials while each unit weighs up to 6.2 gram for lightweight comfort.
