Topping - E50

Topping E50 is the company’s latest desktop DAC in their “E Series” line of products. The E50 comes as a direct upgrade to the highly-acclaimed Topping E30 DAC system with added improvements in every aspect. The E50 comes equipped with a high performance ES9068AS Sabre chip, that provides transparent audio signal decoding achieving ultra-low distortion and high SNR ratings, ensuring Hi-Res sound output. With the help of careful design and adjustments, E50 reduces distortion to as low as 0.00009% and a dynamic range of 126dB, providing you with perfect sound quality.

Topping E50 is equipped with the latest-generation 16-core XMOS USB signal receiver chip, the XMOS XU216. It provides support for high-resolution PCM 32-Bit/768kHz and native DSD512 decoding support over a USB connection. It also supports full MQA decoding with a USB connection. Enrich your music listening experience with the high-resolution audio transmission.

Topping E50 brings support for MQA decoding along with 32-bit/768kHz PCM and native DSD512 decoding support. E50, after capturing the recording, MQA folds the file to make it small enough to stream. This is called ‘Music Origami’ - MQA will playback on any device to deliver higher than CD-Quality. When paired with an MQA decoder, the MQA file reveals the original master recording.

Topping E50 uses CPLD processing to utilise the clock functions and optimise the digital signal, achieving incredible jitter suppression capabilities. With this new CPLD processing, there is no need for an extra femtosecond crystal or an external clock to reduce the jitter. With reduced jitter, the audio transmitted is artefact free and of the highest quality.

The Topping E50 offers preamplifier functions so you can control the output volume on the remote control included. This function will provide great convenience when connected to a power amplifier or monitor speakers. Topping E50 also comes with an automatic on/off function. With this function, the device automatically turns on and is set to the input where an active signal is found. When no signal is detected for about a minute, the E50 turns off automatically.

The E50 supports selectable USB+Coaxial+Optical input modes and RCA+TRS output options. USB input supports formats like DSD512 & PCM768kHz of high-resolution audio. On the E50, the optical and coaxial input not only supports 24bit 192kHz PCM but also supports DoP DSD64 with MQA rendering. E50 offers fully balanced TRS output and single-ended RCA output. You can choose “TRS Only”, “RCA Only” or “TRS+RCA” output to meet different usages in the multiple systems.
NOTE: The TRS output of E50 does not support every adapter to convert to single-ended connection, nor can it be directly connected to headphones.
